No more oral recycling program
This week we received notification from Terracycle that they have stopped taking oral recycling products, effect immediately.
This means we will no long accept any of your old dental products for recycling.
We received the below information
Thank you for taking part in the Colgate® Oral Care Recycling Program!
Unfortunately, Colgate has made the difficult decision to close the program, effective immediately. They would like to extend their appreciation for all of the effort you have made and say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this program and collected packaging. Thanks to our wonderful community of recycling collectors, and the generous support of Colgate, we have collected and recycled nearly 3 million units of oral care products since the program began!
Can I continue to recycle dental waste?
Don’t let this stop your recycling efforts!
The majority of Colgate toothpaste tubes have now switched to a HDPE material. Many council areas around Australia are accepting hard plastic and HDPE waste for recycling via kerbside services, so please check locally to see if it’s available in your area, or check TerraCycle’s recycling public drop-off points map to find local recycling drop-off points for other hard-to-recycle items for hard plastic and HDPE waste.
