Child Dental Benefit Scheme

Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS)

Do you have a child between the ages of 2 and 17? Medicare offers financial assistance to eligible children to meet the costs of dental treatment. To find out if your child is eligible please visit Medicare.

Before you make your appointment please check with Medicare (via the mygov website) that you are entitled to the benefit for that date. Medicare entitlements re-set and will not be payable if there has been a claim within a certain period of time.
When you make your appointment please tell our reception staff that you are a CDBS patient.
Please bring your Medicare card to the appointment. Unfortunately without the card, we are unable to process the claim. If you do forget to bring your card you can still have the appointment but the account will need to be paid and then a claim lodged with Medicare by you.

The best place to start is with Medicare. They are able to tell you if you are eligible.

All our dentists are trained to help children to learn about oral health. We believe that the best treatment is prevention. All our dentists and hygienists take the time to explain, in an age appropriate manner, why it is important to look after our teeth.
