Domestic Violence Crisis Service

Canberra Dental Care is a proud sponsor of Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) here in Canberra. We believe in supporting our local community and helping to make this a better place for everyone.

Why DVCS? We believe that everyone deserves to live in a world free from violence. We want to call out behaviour that is violent, controlling and intimidating, especially in people’s families and homes.

Domestic violence, family violence and intimate partner violence all fall under the same umbrella. It is a term used to describe a pattern of behaviours used by one family member to exert power and control over another family member. The violent person uses violence, threats, force or intimidation to control or manipulate a partner, former partner or another family member, such as a parent, sibling, cousin, aunt or uncle, grand-parent or step-parent.

If you, or someone you know, is experiencing domestic and family violence, DVCS is there to help. They are also here to help people who use violence and what to stop.

DVCS operates a 24 hour 7 day a week phone line (62800900) where you can talk to a trained professional.

If you would like to join us in supporting DVCS there are a few ways you can do that. Donations can be made via their website and you can find out about events behind held throughout the year.

You can also talk about the issue with your friends and family.
